The professional journey

From inspiration to enterprise.

What began as a fascination with theatrical production developed into a career spanning live audio, broadcast, organizational leadership, entrepreneurship and managed event production.

  1. 2010

    Age ten · New York

    Captivated by Broadway

Donald’s interest began with the scale, precision and emotional impact of Broadway productions. Sound design became more than something he heard—it became a discipline he wanted to understand from the inside.

  2. 2013

    Ellenville, New York

    Building the foundation

Early production work in Ellenville created an education in performance, timing, system preparation and responsibility. It established the belief that technical work must always support the people and purpose at the center of the production.

  3. 2016

    Technical development

    Becoming an audio engineer

Repeated live-production experience developed a working command of audio systems, signal flow, system deployment, troubleshooting and live mixing—along with the composure required when critical decisions must be made in real time.

    ZaVa Sound is founded

Donald founded ZaVa Sound as an independent platform for audio, media and production work. The company created the entrepreneurial foundation that would eventually develop into a broader audiovisual and production organization.

    Production and broadcast at scale

    1,090+ Sunday services

Through the years, Donald mixed, broadcast and produced more than 1,090 Sunday services, frequently supporting more than 1,000 attendees per service and contributing to more than 250,000 in cumulative live viewership.

  7. 2022

    Expanding the company

    ZAVA Solutions

ZaVa Sound was rebranded as ZAVA Solutions (Zephyr Audio Visual Architecture Solutions), reflecting an expanded focus beyond audio. Across more than 50 published videos, the company’s media and production work generated more than one million YouTube views.

Donald advanced into production direction, taking responsibility for technical strategy, team development, resource planning and production execution while serving as a member of the organization’s senior leadership team.

    Freelance and corporate production

    Experience across every scale

As an audio designer and sound engineer, Donald supported productions ranging from private weddings and community events to technically demanding corporate programs involving recognizable Fortune 500 companies.
